H&P#3: Children Behind Bars

Our third history and physical focuses on the tragedy at the border. ‘ Children Behind Bars’ tells the story of a migrant child separated from their family at the border. Set to a selection of poems from the collection Dreaming America: Voices of Undocumented Youth in Maximum-Security Detention, this is a work that charts the irrevocable damage inflicted on these children and marvels at their resiliance. We thank the high school children who lent their voices to read these poems and present this as a work-in-progress: much like this crisis is yet ongoing, this piece is still incomplete.
